Court Markings That Can Be Done By yourself It is always best to have a great sports surface as well as perfect, crisp and visible court markings when playing any kind of sports. Even though sports court markings are only simple strait lines, they play a huge role in the playing of sports. Give it some thought, every sports hall flooring, tennis court, basketball court, baseball pitch, squash court, and football pitch have court markings. So lines make up the courts, so if we didn't have any sports lines we wouldn't have any courts or sports court markings. Court markings are best installed or painted on when the sports floor has been sanded or newly installed. It is the best time to install or paint on sports court markings as the floor will be clean, flat and out of action in case the floor is wooden or Granwood and then a coat or two of sports seal will be needed. Different paints can be used for different sports floors or outdoor flooring surfaces. When installing or painting on court markings different floors require different methods for finishing the floor of, so make sure that the correct court marking paint is used. Court markings can be repaired if certain areas have worn off, but there is normally a colour difference as the new paint looks very clean. When touching up court markings it is always important to key and make sure the floor is clean before painting on any sports line marking.
Sports hall flooring normally needs to be refurbished and repaired. This is the case if you have a wood, granwood or seamless polyurethane sports floor. However if in your sports hall the floor is vinyl, it is normally necessary to replace a large section or to remove and replace the floor completely. When refurbishing Granwood or wood sports floors the method is to sand the floor back to bare block or wood to a smooth level surface and then reseal the floor and paint on any court markings that are needed and finally sealing the floor with a sports lacquer. If the sports floor you have in your sports hall is seamless polyurethane sports flooring then it is possible to key the surface first and then apply a new 2mm layer of polyurethane followed by the protection coat and any sports court markings that are needed to finish off the floor. As seamless polyurethane sports flooring does not have any sports seal over the sports line marking, it is important to use a two part court marking paint as it is a very hard paint when fully cured.
When painting on pitch sports court markings you will have to repaint on the lines nearly every time the pitch has the grass cut if you want to keep a highly visible white line. It is important to use different court marking paint on grass as we don't want to hurt or harm the grass. There are special techniques to re lining a football pitch or baseball pitch such as being able to walk in a strait line with the machine, and also it is much easier if the surface you are walking on is flat and level as the court marking machine will not wobble and move about so much.
